The use of AI and AI-assisted technologies in academic writing

All authors who will publish their papers in Fashion and Textiles Review in forthcoming issues (from 2025), will be required to disclose the use of any AI tools in their academic writing. The use of AI is accepted generally for now, but full disclosure is necessary.

As such, changes would be made to the journal's template where author(s) must declare the use of any generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in their writing. Sample of declaration statement is captured below. 

 

DECLARATION OF GENERATIVE AI AND AI-ASSISTED TECHNOLOGIES IN THE WRITING PROCESS

During the preparation of this work the author(s) used [NAME TOOL / SERVICE] in order to [REASON]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as needed and take(s) full responsibility for the content of the publication.

 

We will continue to monitor the AI landscape and its role in academic publishing, and we will update our policies whenever necessary.
